Stanningley Primary School

Guide to Admissions

At Stanningley Primary School, we’re always delighted to welcome new children and families to our school community. Whether you're applying for a place in Reception, Nursery, or transferring mid-year, you’ll find everything you need below.

Starting School in Reception

We follow the Leeds City Council Admissions Policy, which states that children may start school at the beginning of the academic year in which they turn five.

Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is currently 30 pupils per year group. This number is set by the local authority and will only be exceeded at their discretion.

How to Apply

Parents and carers will receive a preference form from the local authority before their child is due to start school. You must apply via the Leeds City Council admissions portal, not directly to school.

Mid-Year Transfers

If your child is already at another school and you would like to transfer to Stanningley Primary, you must complete an in-year transfer application through Leeds City Council.

If we are unable to offer a place, the local authority will place your child on our waiting list and may help you find an alternative school.
