Pupil Voice
At Stanningley, we believe that every child should have a voice. We are proud of our strong pupil voice culture, where children are encouraged to share ideas, opinions and suggestions that help shape school life.
Our approach to pupil voice helps children feel valued, respected, and confident that they can make a difference in their community.
School Council
Our School Council plays a key role in representing the views of pupils across the school. Each year, children in Key Stage 2 take part in democratic elections, where they put themselves forward as class representatives. They write manifestos, deliver speeches, and are elected by their peers — helping them understand the importance of democracy and fairness.
Once elected, our councillors meet regularly to discuss school priorities, raise concerns from their classmates, and work on projects to improve school life.
