At Stanningley Primary School, we take pride in being an inclusive and nurturing school where every child matters. We are committed to upholding the SEND Regulations (2014), the SEND Code of Practice, and the Equality Act (2010) in all aspects of our work. Our dedicated staff embrace a vision that includes all SEND children, believing that every pupil should have the opportunity to access all areas of school life wherever possible. As a result, pupils with SEND receive high-quality provision and achieve excellent outcomes.

We are proactive in identifying pupils who may have special educational needs, through thorough monitoring, observation, discussions with families, and collaboration with appropriate professionals. Our goal is to meet each pupil’s social, emotional, and academic needs, ensuring their well-being and success.

We continuously monitor all children to ensure they are challenged and make progress at their own level within a safe, happy, and secure environment. Our teaching staff plan, scaffold, and skillfully adapt our engaging, broad, and balanced curriculum to support every child’s success. We believe that all children at Stanningley Primary School, including those with SEND, thrive under our care and actively participate in all aspects of school life—whether it’s the curriculum, extra-curricular activities, concerts, trips, visits, or residential experiences.

Our staff provide targeted support to individuals and groups where necessary, ensuring they can participate fully and achieve their potential.

We work closely with Bramley Cluster Children and Family Services and local agencies that support children and families in the local area. Through this partnership, we access a wide range of services, including therapeutic support such as Counselling and Art Therapy. We are dedicated to collaborating with families to ensure the right support is available when and where it is needed.

Equality, diversity and inclusion are key elements of life at Stanningley Primary School. Providing all pupils with a wealth of opportunities is a key priority and staff work hard to remove any barriers to participation whether they are financial, emotional, academic or otherwise.                                                                                          Sheryll Carter Healthy Schools Advisor Health and Wellbeing Services, Leeds City Counc
