Teaching Assistant (Level 2) – Key Stage 2
Grade: B3, Scale Point 7 - 11
Hours: 32.5 per week, term-time only
Salary: £19,437.04 - £20.715.79 (actual salary - pending a pay review)
Contract: Permanent
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching staff to provide support for pupils’ learning, welfare and personal development. You will help ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting individual and group work, and contributing to the wider life of the school. You will also support pupils with a range of needs, helping them to engage positively in their learning.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils in Key Stage 2, including those with additional needs, to access learning.
- Using positive behaviour strategies to support pupils’ engagement and independence.
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of learning activities.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to teachers.
- Promoting positive behaviour, independence and self-esteem.
- Establishing constructive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
- Contributing to the overall ethos and aims of the school.
The successful candidate will have:
- NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent qualification/experience).
- Experience of working with children of relevant age, including supporting a range of learning and additional needs.
- Confidence in supporting positive behaviour and engagement in the classroom.
- Good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
