Hello and welcome back to the final term! I hope you are keeping well and healthy and that you have all managed to make the most of the amazing weather we have been having and getting outside as much as possible. Home schooling will look the same as last term so I am sure you are familiar with the format. If you are having trouble accessing the lessons then please do contact the school for support. Where lessons are asking for worksheets to be printed I have found that much of it can be done verbally with your child or the answers written down on a piece of paper. Having home schooled my own children I am well aware of how stressful it can be but have found trying to stick as close to a routine as possible has helped - including plenty of time still for playtime! Please do try and complete the daily Lexia and TimesTables Rockstars [if you have access] as these skills are so important to keep practicing. Good luck and hope to see you all safe and sound in the near future. Mr Harington and Miss Hudson

Hola! Senora Woodward has sent you some ideas to help you keep up your great work in Spanish. Adios la clase!
Dear Class 3, we hope that you are all well and have enjoyed the lovely weather during the Easter break. Attached below is an overview of the learning for this week. Included in this document are the websites that you will need to visit to access the tasks. If you have any issues accessing the sites, please contact school and we can support you with this. In addition to Maths and English, on the BBC Bitesize Daily Lessons page, there are extra lessons that I have not included on the learning overview that the children can also select from. This is a FANTASTIC website and the interactive resources provided are both engaging and inline with the curriculum. Please remember to read daily too! Do not panic if you find something too challenging - only complete what you can.Remember - you can always access a different year group if you need to. Look at the year group on your home school pack if you are unsure. We are always here and can be contacted at any time to support you. Keep smiling and stay safe.
Enjoy another music lesson...

Have fun experimenting and let me know how you've got on.
Here is your weekly music lesson from Mrs Rivers... enjoy!
Please read the guidance within the Week 3 Weekly Overviews for a detailed explanation for the maths tasks for this week. For week 3 only, here are the White Rose Maths activities as explained within the overview. Please ensure that you complete the tasks BEFORE checking the answers through!
Attached below are resources that have been produced by NatWest in-line with their MoneySense school campaign that they launched at the start of 2020. These have been specifically created for use at home as the team are no longer available to visit school to deliver workshops that were planned in for the summer term. The children will learn about coins and notes, their values and how they are used, including how to calculate change. They are high quality and very engaging and I am sure they can be enjoyed by all in the household. There is a PowerPoint presentation and a learning guide to introduce all of the activities. NatWest are also introducing MoneySense Mondays from 4.5.20. These interactive lessons will be broadcast live on the NatWest Facebook page every Monday morning from 10am for young people and parents to watch together. Hosted by a teacher and Community Banker, the first 30 minutes will be dedicated to KS1 and the second half for KS2. Enjoy!
Mrs Rivers has put a music lesson together for you to enjoy!

A great big WELL DONE to those children who have used TT Rockstars this past week.
Remember, you sould be aiming to play games on TT Rockstars for at least 10 minutes EVERY day as part of your home schooling.
Now, here is the challenge. We started to look at Ancient Egypt. Can you change your avatar to a mummy costume? Try to earn the money first by playing games on TT Rockstars.
I look forward to seeing you all turning into ancient mummies!
I hope you have found the BBC Bitesize resources easy to access and enjoyable. Remember it is ok to access a different year group to find a suitable level of challenge.

White Rose Maths are creating daily tasks for children and publishing them within the 'Home Learning' section of their website. Below is the link for the Year 3 tasks. If you click on each task, there is audio guidance of how to complete each task which will be really helpful for the children as it explains the tasks very clearly! Simply click on the link below and you will have access to this. We are now on 'Week 2' and White Rose Maths have uploaded the lessons already for the entire week. They will continue to upload like this for the forseeable.
Just follow these four easy steps…
1) Click on the set of lessons for your child’s year group;
2) Watch the video (either on your own or with your child);
3) Find a calm space where your child can work for about 20-30 minutes;
4) Use the video guidance to support your child as they work through a lesson.
Following each video, there are tasks assigned that you can download and the answers to these are also available to you.If your child struggles with these, please do not worry about having to access the daily task within a different year group - that is absolutely fine! White Rose Maths have also created Facebook groups for each year group for further support helping your child should you require it (please copy and paste the link below into your browser and join the group). The team will be online every weekday between 10.00 and 11.00am to share children’s questions, examples and stories via any of their social media channels.
So, as of today, 3rd April 2020, we are officially on school holiday and there will be no more posts on the school website until Monday 20th April. In these uncertain times, the staff of Stanningley thought it would be fun to challenge all the children and their families to decorate an egg over the Easter holidays. We will create a gallery on our website to show all the entries. They can be as whacky and as funny as you like, using whatever material you have to hand. Email your photos, which include your face if possible, so we can see who made which entry, to email@example.com before the end of the holidays.
We wish you a safe and happy 2 weeks.
All the staff at SPS.
