The team winner of this years Spirit Alive was the black team who were representing Trinidad and Tabago. A big well done to them.
Wow! What an amazing day! Children from KS1 and KS2 attended the annual Bramley Olympics at the John Charles Stadium today, competing against seven other schools from our cluster. The children participated in every event with such drive and focus, resulting in Stanningley being places third and winning the bronze medals! The KS2 children participated in both field and track events, whilst KS1 competed in the Rainbow Club event. ALL of the children tried their very best and should be very PROUD of themselves. We are certainly proud of you all! Well done!
Yet again another fantastic Race 4 Life Event. All the children collected sponsors for the cancer charities that we annually support. They dressed in their P.E kits and gathered in the playground. The children were greeted with loud cheers and claps from the many spectators that turned up to support the event. The whole school actively participated in a fantastic warm up with Gaz our P.E. coach. We then took it in class turn to complete the race. Even our friends and family joined in the run. We were all winners as we all received a special trophy for participating. The race was followed by our annual summer fair. There were lots of stalls and games to play. Some of us even had our tea at the BBQ. It was BRILLIANT ! Thank You All, for your support.
Over the last few weeks Alan, a friend of the school, has refurbished our well loved star seats. They now look more colourful than ever. If you get chance please go and have a look.
We held our annual Easter Egg competition this week. Lots of children worked hard at home to create some wonderful decorated eggs. Every child was a winner and received a little gift. We also had a 1st , 2nd and 3rd prizes for each class. Have a look at the egg creations and the winners.
We have had a non uniform day. We all brought an Easter Egg to school so we could all wear our favorite clothes for the day. All the Easter Egg that we have collected are going to our friends at Candlelighters Children's Cancer Charity at LGI. These will be shared amongst children who maybe in hospital at Easter Time.
Here are the Key Stage Two children looking lovely all mature at the spring disco.
We all had a great time at our annual Talent Show. We watched some fantastic acts such as, singing, telling jokes balancing acts and even hula hooping.
Once again we put on a fantastic Christmas service at St Thomas` church! Everyone sang their little hearts out! All of the readers and children who carried on the statues couldn't have done a better job! I am not surprised that we had our biggest EVER turnout from parents at home!
Oh Yes they Did! That's right our friendly road safety team came to Stanningley to perform for the whole school. Santa and friends told a lovely story with all the road safety rules. Oh Yes They Did! It was great fun.
A team of chess players went to Olympia in London to take part in the 7th annual Chess In Schools & Communities event. The children were all fantastic & enjoyed the whole exciting experience. During the morning Mia got chance to play on stage as well as everyone receiving some special tuition in preparation for the games in the afternoon. The children enjoyed playing other children from all over the country & everyone won some of their games. Before we headed home we even had time for some sight seeing & trip on the Underground to Covent Garden.
All the children form Key Stage Two looked wonderful in their Halloween outfits .
