Wow, Sports Day 2018 was a massive success. The morning drizzle did not stop KS1 from having a brilliant morning. The afternoon weather improved and KS2 enjoyed a fabulous afternoon. What a brilliant day we have all had at our annual Sports Day. Thank you to all the adults who came along to show support, this was much appreciated. Sports Day offers the opportunity for all children in school to engage in competitive sports and activities. The National Curriculum Physical Education, purpose of study states, 'A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.'

The Brownlee Foundation has been set up by Alistair and Jonny so they can give something back to the Leeds School community. They are adamant that a lot of their success is down to people they met as youngsters around schools, clubs and events who had a fantastic passion for sport. The Brownlee Triathlon Event encourages children to try a new sport and inspire them to be the next generation of Brownlees. We were very proud to watch the girls take part in the triathlon, where all the children swam 30m, cycled 1k and ran 400M.
